Everything in one module
The entire SmartDisplay is just a single module. There is no additional box that has to be stowed away somewhere and no huge cable set that has to be laid.
The entire SmartDisplay is ideal for use with the speedometer board.
One power supply, one button and a temperature sensor for the outside temperature and you have the most important functions.
The GPS receiver is already integrated in the SmartDisplay.

During development, a great deal of attention was paid to not changing the face of the speedometer.
By choosing a suitable LCD, the SmartDisplay is only recognisable at second glance.
The SmartDisplay fits into the recess of the digital clock without any adjustments.
Only high-quality components
Only high-quality components
The abundance of different modules in the maker scene is almost endless. Unfortunately, however, it has been shown that not everything is usable and often does not meet the quality requirements that are needed. Especially not if it is cheap.
This is why the SmartDisplay only uses high-quality components.
A microprocessor from Atmel, a high-quality GPS receiver from uBlox, the LCD from DISPLAY VISION and many small parts from Würth Electronik.
Even if there are cheaper alternative components on the market, these are not really suitable for long-term use.
Made in Germany
This product is a small series that is lovingly handcrafted in Germany.
I deliberately decided in favour of production by hand and in Germany. Nowadays it is possible to have small series produced in China, but this is not nearly as cheap as many people think. So Made in Germany is definitely worthwhile here.
I also have full control over the entire production process at all times.
